The annual population growth rate in the district was calculated at 4.4 percent. In 2012, the population was estimated at 186,400. In 2014, the national population census estimated the district population at 188,918 of which 90,796 were male and 98,122 were female. The annual population growth rate currently stands at 3.2 percent.
